Luke Air Force Base Energy Enhanced Use Lease Project

The Barry M Goldwater Missile Range (BMGR) is located 45 miles south of Luke Air Force Base and approximately 68 miles southwest of Phoenix, AZ.  Luke AFB is home to the Air Education and Training Command Center (AETC) and its subordinate wing, the 56th Fighter Wing.  The 56th Range Management Office is responsible for all environmental issues associated with the eastern segment of BMGR.  BMGR is used as a live-fire training area.

The Enhanced Use Leasing (EUL) opportunity at BMGR involves a 4,000 acre site know as Auxiliary Field #6. Within this site, a parcel of 1,000 acres has been identified as potential location for a solar energy project.

The U.S. Air Force and Luke AFB seek to competitively select a private sector developer to lease the parcel of land and develop a solar energy system.  The successful private sector developer will propose to develop, operate and maintain the facility and provide a cash or in-kind consideration to Luke AFB equal to at least the fair market value of the leased assets.
