Eglin Air Force Base (AFB) is one of the largest Air Force bases in the world, covering 724 square miles of reservation and 97,963 square miles of water ranges in the Gulf of Mexico. Eglin AFB is situated in Florida’s panhandle region within Okaloosa County, approximately one mile southwest of Valparaiso, FL. Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., serves as the focal point for all Air Force armament. It applies advanced technology, engineering and programming efficiencies across the product life cycle to provide superior combat capability to the warfighter. Eglin's Air Armament Center plans, directs and conducts test and evaluation of armament, navigation, guidance systems, and command and control systems. The 96th Air Base Wing, as the host unit, supports the largest single-base mobility commitment in the Air Force. The 2005 Base Realignment and closure (BRAC) resulted in Eglin AFB being named as the future home of the Joint Strike Fighter and the Army 7th Special Forces Group.
The Enhanced Use Leasing (EUL) opportunity at Eglin AFB involves one parcel consisting of 17 acres of generally vacant land on the Gulf of Mexico that can be developed according to the determined highest and best use. The parcel is located approximately 8 miles outside of Eglin AFB at the Southeast corner of Santa Rosa Boulevard and Miracle Strip Parkway (Highway 98), as shown below. The parcel offers approximately 595 linear feet of shoreline. Location of EUL Parcel
