The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, allowed by Congress to privatize the housing they provide to military personnel and lease the underutilized land, turned to Jones Lang LaSalle for its expertise in working with both the public and private sectors.  Their goal is to meet future demand for on-installation military housing by eliminating inadequate housing and improving housing quality overall.  Jones Lang LaSalle supports the Air Force and the Army through the entire privatization and Enhanced Use Lease process from initial due diligence and development concept planning, to assisting in the government selection and negotiation with private developers, to oversight of their assets after closings to protect the interests of all stakeholders.  Through these efforts, Jones Lang LaSalle continually enhances both program practices and project performance.  For the Air Force, 19,100 homes have been privatized across 25 installations.  For the Army, approximately 86,000 homes of the 87,747-home plan have already been privatized, eliminating a $7 billion backlog of new construction and renovation over a 10-year period.  Both services have made and continue to make progress in reaching their goals.
